What You Should Know About Web Design

Working from home may seem like small potatoes, but you can earn big money if you can present yourself like the big boys. I’d like to show you 3 simple things that you can do to make your customers think that you are a large corporation instead of a home based business.

If you’re aiming to host videos within your website, you should check to see if your web host will allow it. Many web hosts will not let people host videos on their servers. FLV files usually take up more than their fair share of space, so check before adding videos to avoid wasting your time.

This is a little contradictory. Self published authors don’t start tossing rotten food just yet. Self published works can be legitimate credentials. If your sales were good, then you could include this as experience, but if they weren’t good, it may hurt you in the end. This one is a ‘use your best judgement’ kind of thing. What are good sales? Anything under 1000 books I wouldn’t bother listing. Of course, that’s my personal opinion.

The first thing you MUST do is invest in a good website. If you don’t already have one you can pay large amounts of money to a web design company or you can do it yourself. I’ve taken the cheaper route and did my own site. There are many options out there for the money thrifty business people, like me. GoDaddy has a do-it-yourself program called Website Tonight. They provide you with templates and easy step by step, fill in the blanks, type programming. The cost is under $20 a month and if you take your time putting it together, you can even impress those hard to please customers. Note of caution, keep it simple and in plain English. Too many bells and whistles on the website may deter future customers.

Content is very important, on every page you should have at least 100 words of copy which will include your most important keywords. Google loves content & the more up to date & relevant the content is the better.

Again, it’s best to keep these individual agents as possible. Its one factor, if the developer offers a lot (I’m often on). This is another one, if it causes you to choose a host, and the host is the same. It seems that as cheating.

Allow people to give away your free ebook to their visitors. Then, their visitors will also give it away. This will just continue to spread your ad all over the internet.
