We have all probably heard about Yoshi. He (or it) is a Nintendo character that that first appeared in Super Mario World. Yoshi is one of the Nintendo’s most popular characters in the company’s history. He was at first Mario’s helper in the task of saving the princess and later has started to have his own game series such as Yoshi’s island. He was also a character in Mario Cart, Super Smash Bros., Mario Party, etc… Yoshi also seems to be a star of a lot of mini-games and inspires many people to create games and quizzes which you can use to test your Yoshi knowledge. We met parents with three other children from Alberta who will be sharing the same house (22 people in a five-bedroom house with two bathrooms). We concentrated at the task at hand rather than the conditions around us. “Take a number to go to the washroom”. The owners of the Day-Care were kind and our kids realized they will have to accept whatever will be thrown at them. The long drive made them tired but they were ready for it.
You see, we are three-part beings made up of mind, body and spirit. Our body is the most recognizable aspect of our beingness while we reside in the physical universe because it is a physical presence that can be defined by our physical senses. Our mind is the next most recognizable aspect of our beingness because we can tap into it via the physical part of us called the brain. Report back was again, again it was very inspiring to us as parents; our kids are getting trained that is not taught on school benches, serving the needy can be an eye opener and humble experience. Everlasting training that will change their lives for the better. They were discussing and planned fund-raises by themselves to help the needy people in future. Again a lesson not learned at school. It is more blessed to give than to receive.
By the end my tailbone was killing me (I’d screwed it up in the Republic of Georgia during mountaineering school). I did get stuck in Jalalabad, Afghanistan for about a week because of the heaviest rains that part of the world had suffered in fifty years. Fortunately many of my American team members shared the same fate so they were able to keep me company. As bad as it was to say goodbye to friends, family… and high speed internet it was good to see my team mates again.
