So that when a card reader suggest to us a possible situation as depicted by the cards, our very powerful association ‘reflex’ kicks in full force, scans our life and makes every attempt to coordinate the broad-brush card situation with our ‘real-life’ situation. Therefore we uncover what appears to be a train of current happenings that seem to match. We, together with certain dominance we’ve given over to the reader, conclude a certain accuracy of the reading to depict a valid portrayal of our life circumstances.

One story that touches on the Batman/joker dynamic is Alan Moore’s The Killing Joke. It doesn’t cover the symbiotic relationship, but it does touch on the mirror aspect. It draws a lot of parallels between the two characters and their tragic history. While they are opposite sides of the same coin, manifestations of order and chaos respectively, they aren’t so different. The comic also features one of Joker’s more lucid moments. When Batman makes one final plea to reform, reminding him that there’s only one way for their current set-up to end and that it doesn’t have to go down like that, joker gaming actually and (I believe) sincerely apologizes before telling him that he’s too far gone.

And so I say again, The choices we make determine what the studios put out there. WE as people who watch films are the ones who should be rewarding good films and brave decisions made by the industry by using our hard earned money to actually see films that are great. And the only way the industry will learn this, is if we truly use our emotional intelligence and intellect. To feel, love, laugh and cry as heroes, heroines and villains come to life on the stage and in film. Until the next time…
